Technical Department

Sub-Directorate of Technical

The Technical Department reports directly to the Subdirectorate of Technical Services of the Hospital. Its main mission is to ensure the smooth, safe, and uninterrupted operation of all building facilities and the electromechanical equipment of the institution.

The experienced technical staff work daily to maintain a safe and functional environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Infrastructure Maintenance & Accessibility

Preventive inspection, construction works, and repair of damages in all buildings and hotel equipment. Special attention is given to the continuous improvement of the environment and ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities.

Electrical and Mechanical Networks & Medical Gases

Supervision of the 24-hour smooth distribution of electrical power, lighting, grounding/air terminals, and backup generators. Continuous monitoring and support of critical medical gas supply networks and anesthesia installations.

Strategic Planning & Energy Policy

Preparation of technical studies for development projects and annual infrastructure upgrade planning in collaboration with the Financial Department. Implementation of energy policy to optimize performance and fuel savings.

Main Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance

Preventive checks and repair of damages in all buildings.

Mechanical and Electrical Projects

Supervision of power supply, lighting networks, and backup generators (G/E) on a 24-hour basis.

Hydraulic Networks

Management of water supply, sewage, and heating systems.

Air Conditioning and Ventilation

Operation and cleaning of cooling, heating, and ventilation systems (HVAC).

Medical Gases

Continuous monitoring and support of medical gas supply networks and anesthesia supply in surgeries.

Building Works

Minor repairs, painting, and maintenance of interior/exterior spaces.

Safety and Fire Protection

Ensuring the proper functioning of fire detection, firefighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems.

Accessibility for People with Disabilities

Ensuring all necessary accessibility facilities in buildings and parking areas.

Communication Networks

Maintenance, repair, and proper operation of telephone exchanges, loudspeaker systems, intercoms, and staff call systems.

Infrastructure Studies & Design

Preparation of studies for new projects, supervision, and acceptance. Annual updates on upgrade planning in collaboration with the Financial Department.

Energy Policy

Monitoring energy/fuel consumption and drafting studies to optimize system performance.

Operations Support

Maintaining a complete key record (and reproducing it upon approval), as well as responsibility for maintaining the Hospital’s vehicles.
